Why Ken Cody Will Not Accept Contributions...

An abundant amount of cash is spent on campaigning. Money Spent on Campaign for - Website, Video, Mailbox, Business Cards, Address Labels, Postage, Mailings, Bumper Stickers, Lawn Signs! I believe that a candidate's message should win votes not money spent on advertising. That is why I will not be accepting contributions. I also think that the people of the 12th District are hard workers and should spend money on themselves and their families. If you are one of the fortunate ones who have extra cash in this economy - give it to a charity or put in back into our economy but do not spend it on a candidate. This campaign intends to use "economical resources" in getting our message out. Some examples of low cost is our website. It is not fancy by any stretch but it can get our message out. Any flyer, bumper sticker or sign made will also be at low cost. The voice of a candidate should win elections - not money. The "Money Spent" ticker to the right is what our campaign costs to run. If you want to see what the rest of the country raises to be spent, click on the link at Open Secrets.org. It truely is an eye-opener and will leave you speechless. If elected I will support strict campaign finance reform. It will create fair elections and cut the wasteful spending that goes along with politics.

We Need Truth, Vision & Hope

WORKING TOGETHER FOR TRUTH, VISION & HOPE

Truth, Vision, Hope is not a political party - it is a mission to make America the best country it can be. The TRUTH is for an effective Congress we need both Republicans and Democrats to work together for solutions. I Truth Vision Hope for all in the 12th District!believe our goal is to put America first not labels. Time is urgent to put the best minds together - from both parties and establish resolutions that benefit all. My VISION is that party loyalty will need to be put aside in the best interest of our country. If elected, I would go to congress with an open mind and work with both parties to find a common ground that can solve issues that affect us. It will take concessions from both Republicans and Democrats but we need to "pound out" constructive policies and pass them through congress efficiently. The HOPE is in the end America wins and becomes stronger.

We're On The Ballot in 2014! Thank You!

I wanted to take time out to thank everyone involved in our campaign. Today I went to Trenton and submitted my petition to run as an Independent candidate for Congress in the 12th district. Your 115 signatures made it possible. I am very grateful for your support. But this campaign is not about me it is about the issues that affect us all. It starts with stopping campaign spending. Over the last two election cycles my opponents raised over $6 million dollars just to run their campaigns. I believe that is $6 million too much! In a race in Florida a Congressional candidate raised over $20 million! Just think what that money could have done for educational programs, medical research or maybe it could have been spent on local small businesses. Instead most of it is wasteful. We should only have fundraisers for the right causes - to help people or organizations in need. I am proud to say that my campaign has never accepted any monetary contributions. I use my own funding to finance my candidacy. I believe we need to set campaign finance limits for each election. When we do that we make elections fair and we do not need to "break the bank" in every election cycle. In my opinion for this upcoming election there is no need to raise $2 million dollars for any candidate. We should reduce that number by ninety percent. Our message to Washington is loud and clear - it is time to get money out of politics.

I remain consistent with my views. We need to stop the reckless spending that goes on each election year. I believe you can win elections without spending contributions and taxpayer money. We truly are the "economy-friendly" candidate. Strict campaign finance is needed. Working together no matter which political party you belong to is a must. Small businesses need to grow so our dollar can become strong again. Creating new jobs through expansion of clean energy will benefit all of us.

I look forward to the election campaign and meeting the many people of our district. As you know Representative Rush Holt is not seeking re-election in 2014. I want to thank him personally for his service in Congress and for the work he has done for the citizens of our district. He has always been generous and respectful to myself and my campaign efforts in 2010 & 2012. To everyone who will cast a vote in Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties - I hope you can give me your vote and support. A sincere thank you for believing in Truth, Vision and Hope. Take care and best wishes to all.

Ken Cody Meets With Comcast!

Independent candidate Kenneth Cody who is running for the Congressional seat in New Jersey's 12th district was interviewed by Jill Horner of Comcast. This interview was done in mid-September in Trenton. The program is called "Candidates On Demand" and it profiles local candidates running for office during the 2012 campaign. The interview can be seen on CNN Headline News (locally) within the final two weeks before the November election (Starting October 20th) and also it can be accessed by your remote control by clicking "On Demand" (if you are a Comcast customer) then locating "Get Local" and the sub-folder "Election 2012". It was a great experience and I wanted to thank Comcast personally for allowing me to talk about my candidacy - It was another way to get our message across to the voters without wasting money. I believe venues like this, facebook, twitter and door-to-door campaigning are free ways of keeping the citizens informed. I strongly believe that we need to end the influence and power of money in politics and will not accept any monetary contributions for the upcoming election.
